The next meeting of the Pinewood & Stour Valley Branch of the South Suffolk Labour Party will take place on 23rd April starting at 7:30pm at Tattingstone Village Hall. This is the second time we have used this venue following a successful AGM in January when 18 people attended.
There is quite a lot going on in Babergh District now and leading up to the next BDC Elections in May 2019. Campaign planning for that is well underway and we will soon start door knocking to get more data on voting intentions. We will be asking for help on many aspects of the campaign process soon. This will be a major topic for discussion at the meeting. Other topics that we wish to discuss are as follows:
- Proposed merger of Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils. There was a presentation and discussion on this controversial subject at the AGM in Jan. We will have an update on this
- Proposed new warding arrangements for Babergh area, reducing the number of seats on the Council from 43 to 32.
- Fund Raising: Launch of a CLP Lottery to raise replenish our election fund that is at a very low ebb after the two national elections, a referendum and Suffolk County Council elections within two years.
- Helping with Ipswich Borough Council Election campaigning. There is an election there on 3rd May.
Hope to see you on 23rd April.
Kind Regards – Phil
