South Suffolk Labour Party presents
STAND UP FOR LABOUR
In the glorious Quay Theatre (Quay Lane, Sudbury CO10 2AN).
The Stars of the Show
Steve Gribbin appeared on every show during the Red Wedge tour of the 1980s as well as appearing on the cult Saturday Night Live. He is now a regular at London's Comedy Store, where he performs topical jokes at the Cutting Edge comedy night. He has had Stand up for Labour audiences in stitches in Bolton, Lincoln, Wirral West, Crewe, Witney (David Cameron's seat), Nottingham (with Neil Kinnock) and Covent Garden.
Gráinne Maguire knows as much about the vagaries of coalition government as she does about Cheryl Cole’s relationship choices. She is a regular writer for comedy shows on radio and TV and has been a warm up act for Ed Miliband at Conference. She has brought laughter to Stand up for Labour events in Kettering, Ilford, Brighton, Eastbourne (with Denis Healey), Hastings, Paddington, Cardiff and Edinburgh.
Daniel Simonsen is a wonderful Norwegian physical comedian and mimic. He won Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Festival in 2012, has warmed up for Simon Amstell on his national tour and has since appeared on ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’. He made his Stand up for Labour debut at Warrington’s Christmas event last year.
Your Host for the Night
Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour in 2012 and has now organised over 100 comedy night fundraisers for Labour Party constituency groups across the country. Crispin has appeared on Paramount Comedy channel and was a runner-up in the prestigious Hackney Empire New Acts of the Year before dedicating his time to the Labour Party.
The night will also include liquid prizes and a raffle as we look to raise money for South Suffolk Labour Party's election campaign.
